Before Punk, before Riot Gurlz, there were Daisies, (1966). A anarchistic, psychedelic romp through cold war Czechoslovakia, this film was banned almost immediately after the Soviet Invasion and the director prohibited from making movies in her home country until 1975. Despite a director approved re-write of the english subtitles, they remained awkward and incomprehensible in many places.
